Sandara Park Celebrated Philippine Independence in Korea, revealed favorite foods


The Friendship Ambassador of Korea-Philippines attended the celebration of the 119th Independence Day of the Philippines in Seoul's Han River on June 12.

DARA PARK gave her heartfelt speech to those who attended the event, which are Filipinos. The singer actress spoke in Filipino language to gave a warm connection with the audiences. She said, "... Thank you for coming in this event this morning, I think it's my first time to be with so many Filipinos here in Korea... so happy.. (Translated)"


Dara also added her proud heart that she was raised in the Philippines. "Filipinos know that Philippines is my second home, I grew up there and I received so much love from Filipinos. I really love Philippines so I take time to visit beautiful beaches such as in Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, Subic and more during my free time. I also love the local dishes like sisig*, pinakbet*; you like it, too? And sinigang na hipon* is my favorite (Translated).

*Sisig is a Filipino dish made from parts of pig's head and liver, usually seasoned with calamansi and chili peppers
*Pinakbet is made from mixed vegetables steamed in fish or shrimp sauce.
*Sinigang na Hipon pertains to a Filipino sour soup dish with shrimp as the main ingredient.
